Top Features Of cPanel/WHM 11.25 -Edge Build Now Available.
cPanel has released the latest version of their Linux web hosting software – cPanel/WHM 11.25 – to the EDGE build.
cPanel/WHM 11.25 is published to the EDGE build, meaning that it features the latest features and technology, however, lacking comprehensive testing, the Edge build is not recommended for running on a production web server.
While cPanel/WHM was already famous for its ease of use and reliability, version 11.25 offers several improvements including:
Usability enhancements:
It features usability enhancements such as quicker mobile device access due to fewer authentication requests from the server and near real-time email delivery with its IMAP IDLE support for mobile devices.
They have revamped the cPanel home page with even cleaner HTML, and reduced the number of HTTP requests the page sends, resulting in shorter load times. Plus, optimized the CSS used by cPanel, to speed page loading throughout the entire cPanel interface.
They’ve also overhauled one of cPanel’s most frequently accessed areas: the Email Accounts page. It now combines all the major functionality involved with email accounts into a single page: you can add, search, sort, and delete accounts, as well as change passwords and quotas, all without leaving the page.
cPanel/WHM 11.25 comes equipped with an improved editor for MX (mail exchanger) entries. This new editor allows you to configure multiple mail exchangers with the same priority, for balancing the load on the mail servers.
cPanel’s language system has also been overhauled, to incorporate a much more accurate, locale-based framework that uses less server memory and loads more quickly. It’s also more compatible with languages that are written right-to-left.
Security features:
They have added numerous security features including session tokens and blank referer checks that help prevent cross-site request forgery. cPanel has also bolstered its cPHulk utility, which combating “brute force” server attacks, making it more responsive to attempted Denial of Service attacks, offering faster notification of malicious users.
Efficiency improvements:
The latest version of cPanel/WHM provides a host of enhancements which can lighten server load, resulting in faster response times.
cPanel/WHM 11.25 implements some major changes in the mailing system. The Exim configuration has been adjusted to allow a single process to listen on multiple ports, thereby reducing RAM and CPU usage. Version 11.25 also updates RoundCube, SquirrelMail, and Mailman to their most current versions.
cPanel/WHM 11.25 is also a lighter and faster control panel, featuring lower memory consumption during synchronization of domain name server clusters, as well as quicker restart processes for both the Apache web server and the BIND nameserver.
The latest Version also improved the overall speed with which new accounts are created, due to a faster httpd.conf generation process.
Version 11.25 also marks the end of cPanel’s support for the x and x2 themes. During installation of 11.25, users of the x and x2 themes will automatically be switched to the up-to-date x3 theme, which uses the x branding package.
According to cPanel’s four build categories, Version 11.25 will develop into a “Current” build, which is more mature and tested than Edge, then it will become a “release,” the preferred build for a production server, generally featuring the latest fixes and new features and finally “Stable”, the build for conservative web hosts who do not wish to run the latest release.
